It's hard to believe that yet another school year is coming to a close! We are looking forward to a long summer break. Before we officially end our school year, we get a vacation to San Diego to celebrate Kyle's mom and dad's 50th wedding anniversary. We are looking forward to it!
This last couple of weeks have been weeks of completing things. Abby finished her Pre-Algebra book. Grant finished his grammar book. Allison is almost finished with Geometry, and Chloe is almost finished with her phonics and math books. Completing subjects is exciting and leaves us with more time to read, and work on the upcoming movie the kids will film this summer. The script is written and the cast has been revealed. We are all excited for the madness to begin. Well, maybe I'm not so excited about the madness..... :)
Chloe is slowly adding fish to her ocean mural.
She added some seahorses complete with glitter glue and sequins.
We are enjoying our read aloud, Pilgrim's Progress, even though Chloe calls it "that weird book". :) Allison and Abby are reading "Christy". And, I'm reading Mr. Popper's Penguins to Chloe. Grant is devouring every book I can think of to give him lately, so I'm currently looking for more ideas for him. Leave me a comment if you have a suggestion for an 11 year old boy!
Lastly, I am reading "Choosing Gratitude" which I can't recommend highly enough!

Hi Sydni,
Here's a link to Ann Voskamp's bookshelf. At the the bottom, her 14 year old son complied a list of books that, in his words, "every boy must read". Maybe worth looking though?! I bet you guys are ready for summer! :)
Hey Sarah, I think you forgot the link, but I went looking for it. What a great list she has over there! Thanks and here's the link: http://www.aholyexperience.com/best-books-list/
Did Chloe draw those fish? That octopus is amazing!
Well, sorry to spoil your amazement of Chloe, but she colored, cut, and pasted and that's all. Maybe someday she'll draw like that too. :)
Still, very nice Chloe!
