Crunchy leaves, orange pumpkins, cool weather, pumpkin bread, sweet potatoes, hot soup, sweatshirts, shortening days. Fall with all its sights, sounds, and smells! We love fall at our house and never grow tired of it. School is bearable when we know that at the end of the school day we can enjoy life under a great, blue, cloudless sky where the bright yellow sun shines brightly. Below are the highlights of the last several weeks.
Adding to our fall fun, we get to watch a rousing game of tennis every Thursday afternoon. Grant is quite the player. Ranked number 2 on his team, he helped the team make the final game in the tournament. Grant won his matches, but the team fell one match short of taking home the blue. They are awfully proud of their second place win this year though, and so they should be.

Chloe proudly displays "My very educated mother just served us nine pizzas" aka Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
While studying Michelangelo in art class, we painted frescos (paint on wet plaster), the same technique Michelangelo used to paint the famous Sistine Chapel.
Random pic of the month! I love any toy that causes the kids to think and be creative. Magnetix do just that. These had been sitting in the closet for quite some time, so I delighted to see that Chloe pulled them out again. She made an amusement park complete with Ferris wheel!
In other happenings, Grant has grown another inch in just 6 weeks putting him at 5' 7". He is now taller than everyone in the family except for his dad. I find his height handy in the kitchen for retrieving things on the top shelves!
Abby, who has to be content at a couple of inches over 5', practices bow shooting every afternoon. Fall weather is perfect for shooting arrows, and I believe I saw a big, round pumpkin sitting in the garage that will likely be target practice soon enough.
Allison does not stand still long enough for anyone to get any pictures of her, but she is diligently rehearsing for her last ballet performance in Christmas Joy. What a wonderful season of watching her practice! The show will run over the weekend of December 13th, 14th, and 15th. If you live in ABQ, don't miss it!
Happy Fall Everyone!
