Due to the fact that my parents celebrated 50 years of marriage on August 14, 2014, our entire family met in Galveston for Thanksgiving. What a precious time we had, and how blessed we are that God has given them 50 years together!

Driving from ABQ to Waco, TX was uneventful. Thank goodness! We had
an "exciting" drive once already. Unless you count Kyle mowing down that skunk in the road and our car smelling odoriferous for about two days, this trip was easy.
25 years ago, I graduated from Baylor University. I wanted to see my old alma mater again and show the kids my old stomping grounds. Baylor is anything BUT my old stomping grounds. The campus has changed a lot, but the newly built McLane Stadium involved the most evident change for me. Baylor played their first football game there this past August. No longer do students have to pile in cars and drive across town to sit in a puny stadium to watch the Bears play. Now they can
walk across campus, and sit in a grand stadium! 2013 found the Bears winning their first Big 12 championship, and they have a chance to do the same in 2014. Sic 'em Bears!

The Strand in Galveston
The stair step picture changes every time we take it. Will be fun to see who changes position the next time! |
