2016 brought a few noteworthy changes to Grant's life. We don't, however, think he grew any taller this year. Whew! I'm guessing his favorite change would be that he made the varsity tennis team at Eldorado High School. Playing for Eldorado increased his tennis skills and gave him the competition he craved. Then, just before his 16th birthday, we decided braces were in his future after all. Not exactly a favorite gift, but one he was excited about nonetheless.
Another change: A different birthday cake! After several years of baking a triple chocolate bundt cake for Grant's birthday, he wanted something different for his 16th--Reese's peanut butter cup cake. I made the frosting and the cake, and Allison put it together working her magic like always.
Chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting on the outside...
...and chocolate frosting between the layers.
Along with requested Italian lime chicken soup, Grant asked for breadsticks. Chloe formed one special breadstick just for the occasion.
Happy birthday, Grant! May the you grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior in the coming year.
