We finally finished up our human body study and have moved on to plants. Allison had to collect 20 different leaves and identify them for her biology class. Abby's General Science course has her studying about plant life too. So, even though we are using three different curriculums, I love that we are basically on the same page!
As a part of our plant study, Elemental Science has us searching in nature for some of the things we are studying about. Chloe and Grant wanted to make a nature collection in the school room window. I LOVE this curriculum! We are having lots of fun with it, and both kids are learning how to narrate--a goal I have had for my children for a long time, but can never seem to get around to taking the time for. Elemental Science helps me accomplish that goal.
Abby had a little fun with her Latin lesson this week when writing sentences for some of the English derivatives. Sentence #3 is my favorite.
Crushing up sugar cubes to see how the body digests food.
The weather has been so nice for a couple of months now!
These two have become quite the roller bladers!
We've been practicing a little tennis too!
Allison and I finished Till We Have Faces by CS Lewis. We both really enjoyed this one.
Abby finished the last book in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy by JRR Tolkien. Allison and Grant are not far behind her, but Abby wins the prize for first! The kids now think that their Dad and I should read the books too, so we joined the Tolkien madness and are trying to slog our way through The Fellowship of the Ring. "If you want to see the movie…." Our words are coming back to haunt us, but I think a movie night will be in order very soon!

We are also working our way through LOR and watching movies along the way! Your week sounded wonderful.
Looks like a great week. We are doing Elemental Science too, but we haven't started the plants unit yet.
What a nice idea to display books with your nature collection!
LOL. I struggled through the Tolkien series. I'm just not a fantasy person, so I feel your pain.
Sounds like you are having a wonderful time with science!
I love the rollerblading pictures. We are having our nicest weather of the year right now. Give it another few weeks and we'll be melting.
Nice week! I liked sentence #3 as well!
Looks like a great week! Hope you enjoy your time at the convention.
