April Fool or Mr. Nobody? At our house, it is usually Mr. Nobody.
Chloe had an assignment this week in First Language Lessons to write about the Mr. Nobody in her house after she memorized the poem, Mr. Nobody. She pegged him!
We finished up our study of Ancient Greek history this week, and started on Ancient Rome. Allison and Abby have already put in many hours of history research and script writing for their new movie which will incorporate what they have learned about ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome into a modern day spy movie. Having teens in the house has added a whole new dimension to our lives. They are so creative!
I finished reading aloud Hittite Warrior by Joanne Williamson this week. What a great book! Ms. Williamson brilliantly blends together several cultures of the Old Testament in her book about a Hittite boy growing up in the time of Israel's judges. We will never read Judges 5 the same again after reading her book!
We also read the beautifully illustrated Cupid and Psyche myth this week. All the kids enjoyed it, but Allison and I needed to read it so that we could attempt to understand CS Lewis's retelling of the myth entitled Till We Have Faces. I'll write more later on now we are doing with that! So far, it is an enjoyable read and not too difficult to follow.
We ended the third grading period this week and started on our last nine weeks of school. I can't believe we are at the end of another school year!
Have a great weekend.

I remember "Mr. Nobody"! Please tell me that you took the dictation for that - if your DD has penmanship that pretty, I am going to go crawl under a rock, LOL!
Oh yes, she dictated that to me--definitely. :)
I think there might be a Mr. Nobody living at our house too! Cute :)
Till We Have Faces is an excellent story. It as at the top of my Lewis list. My favorite lines from it is: "I know now, Lord, why you utter no answer. You are yourself the answer. Before your face questions die away. What other answer would suffice?"
Mr. Nobody stills lives at my house! Looks like a great week.
I always enjoy seeing what books others read---thanks for the details!
