Last year, we watched butterflies hatch out of cocoons. This spring, we are watching ladybug larvae.
I bought Ladybug Land from Rainbow Resource last summer when planning our new school year. This spring, I ordered the larvae with the handy insect certificate I received with it. The larvae came in a cardboard tube along with some food. We simply shook the larvae and their food down into Ladybug Land and started watching!
You can see some of the larvae have climbed to the top of the dome and are now in the pupa stage. Soon, we should have ladybugs!

Should be interesting to watch. Soon the ladybugs will fly away home.
