Last night, Chloe threw away the last mildew-ridden tub toy. Finally noticing his mildewed open mouth, the cute little fishy that formally entertained her no longer looked so cute. Like it or not, I guess that's just further proof that the kids in my house are growing up.
Most of our school work the last two weeks doesn't really count as blog worthy, but we did read a few great books that I will share, and Abby did a great science project that definitely deserves at least a picture.
Grant finished The Adventures of Tom Sawyer this week. He gave it a thumbs up which makes my heart glad because I happen to like that book too. Abby finished an autobiography about Joni Eareckson Tada awhile ago and proclaimed it "inspirational", and now Allison is working to finish the book as well. Chloe and I started reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe this week, and I can't tell you how excited I am to read and share this book with another child! I've read it probably 20 times, and it never gets old. My plan is to read all of The Chronicles of Narnia to her this year. I can't wait!
Here's Abby's eukaryotic cell model. We ate it after she presented it to her biology class. We did have to overcome squeamish feelings about eating a cell, but after all, it was an "edible cell".
Grant enjoys playing on the homeschool, mid-school tennis team this year. He's two for two so far! He won both his singles match and his doubles match. Way to go, Grant!
Allison is up to her usual torture now that fall is here. She made chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting. This picture doesn't do them justice. After allowing them to set in the freezer, she dipped them in melted chocolate. Amazing. I wish I could eat one. I'm hoping she will blog about them soon on her baking blog here.
