Turning 10

How can it be?  She's left singles digits behind in exchange for the number 10. It seems like yesterday that we brought Chloe home for the first time.  Chloe, you have always been sweet, loving, and observant.  You captured the attention of little old ladies in the grocery store when you were 2, and they still love to talk to you now at 10.  God has gifted you with a love for people, and I hope you will use that gift for His glory all of your days.

Chloe loves all people, and she especially loves her friends.  She also has a love for anything owls.

So, it only seemed fitting that we throw her an owl themed birthday party!  First up, pearler beads.

But these aren't just any beads, these are glow in the dark beads! This craft may be kind of a stretch to fit in with our owl theme, but owls are nocturnal, so glow in the dark it is.

Then, comes this little guy.  Chloe's cuteness meter went way up on this little owl.  Kyle said only dogs could hear her squeals of delight when she first laid her eyes on this blue, fluffy, perfectly adorable owl.

I found an image of him on a Google search, made up my own pattern, and put together some kits for the party guests--in neon colors.  Perfect!

We also made book marks complete with puffy owl stickers.

Here's Chloe's finished neon pink owl.  Love him!

Our guests came in all sizes, but they all loved being together and making their owl friends.  These girls are precious to us! (I also have the privilege of teaching them on Wednesday nights!)

Neon place markers with puffy owl stickers helped everyone feel welcome.

Our in-house baker, aka Allison, made Chloe this stunning owl cake.  Chloe said, "Alice, it is just like I imagined it!"  Great job, Allison!

This bubbly punch hit the spot after a few rowdy games of musical towels and relay races.  Lime and raspberry sherbert poured over with Ginger Ale.  Yum!

Happy Birthday, Chloe!  Love you bunches.  May the Lord bless you richly in the coming year!
