Creativity and Legos

As annoying as a pile of Legos can be in the middle of any floor in my house, especially if I step on one or suck one up in the vacuum, I know they have a place in helping my kids be creative.  I'll take Legos over video games any day!  Legos cause thinking and creativity to happen in my house, and I'm always astounded by what Grant can create with them when he puts his mind to it.

Last week, I began to prepare my lesson on the tabernacle for my Adventure kids.  I've tried many different ways of making this lesson come alive for the kids, but I haven't found any visual aid that I have just loved.  I thought, "Wouldn't it be great to make a life-sized model of the tabernacle that the kids could walk through?"  Yes, well, it would be great, but that was not going to happen in the four hours I had left to get ready for my class!  That's when it hit me!  Grant could build me a scaled-down version of the tabernacle with Legos.  The kids will love it.  And they did!

I thought he did a smashing job.  With no help from me, Grant spent about an hour in his room constructing the Jewish tabernacle.

I love it!  Thanks Grant, and keep playing with those Legos!
