This week, we officially finished redecorating Chloe's room! It is very pink and very Chloe. The picture below was hard to take. Her curtains are hot pink and sparkly! The sparkles don't show up in the picture. The tulle butterflies above the window are sparkly too.
I bought chip board letters on sale at Hobby Lobby to spell Chloe's name. I used scrapbook paper and Mod Podge to decorate them. If you haven't used Mod Podge, Google it to find some great projects you can do with it. I put a coat of clear paint with sparkles (of course!) over the top of the letters when the Mod Podge dried.
Our favorite part of her room though is her tree. Chloe helped me a little with this project. She helped me to hang it, and she gave me lots of ideas about what she wanted to be in the tree. The owl? He just HAD to be pink!

I cut the trunk from brown fabric and used green, blue, pink, and purple fabric for the rest. We soaked each piece in liquid starch and smoothed it on the wall where we wanted it making sure to smooth all the air bubbles out of the fabric. When the starch dried, our tree and creatures were stuck fast to the wall. I can easily peel off the fabric when we are ready to move, if we get tired of having the tree on the wall, or we want to reposition it. What a great option for renters! Again, you can find lots of information about this process by Googling "liquid starch wall art". One site I found suggested this technique could be done with scrapbook paper as well, but our test with paper didn't remove nearly as easily as the fabric did, so we opted to use just fabric.
Congrats on the new room, Chloe!
