Redecorating

The last few weeks have been a blur! The kids have been busy shooting their new movie and trying to wrap it up as a new school year rapidly approaches. Stay tuned for more information on "Operation Uncharted" as the summer comes to a close.

All four kids spent last week in Las Cruces filming scenes, so I had some time to myself. This year, I aspired to not only clean their rooms, but to also move Chloe and Grant into their very own rooms. This move required a major room/furniture shift, so I wasn't able to finish it before they arrived back home. We are still working on it!

I want God's word to have a prominent place in our home, so I decided to incorporate that idea into the kids' room make-over. I recycled some old picture frames with cans of spray paint--black for the older kids and hot pink for Chloe. Hot pink is in style when you're seven. :)

I love scrapbook paper. The colors, the patterns, the glitter--oh my! I had lots of fun choosing just the right paper to reflect each child's taste. Choosing just the right verse to go with each child's room theme was fun too. As you can see from the above picture, Grant's room will be a pirate/nautical theme.

Allison and Abby share a room. Allison loves blue and Abby loves green. For teenaged girls the style is bling! Shiny, glittery, and sparkly describe how my teen girls want their rooms. When I found blue and green glitter paper at Hobby Lobby on sale last week, I knew I had a winner. Proverbs 3:5-6 just happens to be their favorite verse. I always said they should have been born twins.

For a sparkly bright room, I thought Psalm 119:105 would fit nicely, so I used that verse too. Two girls=two verses.

For Chloe, I chose the fruits of the spirit. This frame used to be gold and held a sweet little picture of Winnie-the-Pooh. I can't believe it's time to put away Pooh bear!

I'll post more pictures and decorating fun as the rooms begin to take shape!
