This week, we finished up our school work, and moved on to baking! The kids are now officially half way finished with the 2011-12 school year. It's a good feeling!
Baking fun treats is a tradition at our house at Christmas time, and all three girls have their specialties. Grant specializes in tasting the treats his sisters make. Fortunately for our health, most of the treats have been baked for parties and gatherings.
Allison made frosted sugar cookies, a favorite. She patiently allowed Chloe to help and taught Chloe how to decorate them.
They both did a great job!
Cake pops are hard to make! But, we all wanted to give them a try. Allison blogged about them here.
I love Chex Mix. So, I made some of that just for us.
Peppermint swirl cookies
Abby's specialty is candy. Her chocolate caramel truffles are marvelous! Even though I'm allergic to chocolate, a small chocolate treat ever so occasionally doesn't seem to bother me. I chose one of Abby's truffles for my Christmas chocolate treat!
But, I tell you what, these peanut butter kiss cookies with a dark chocolate Hershey's kiss would have been my second choice. Yummy!
For a little something different, I decided to make our rainbow cake, ….
…but turn it, this time, into a Christmas cake!
What are you baking at your house this Christmas?
