Summer Shenanigans

Busy seems to be the condition of summer since the kids began to get older, more creative, and driven to do more than just go to the park for lunch and have an occasional outing at the public pool.  At least we are doing things that we enjoy!

We started off the summer with a trip to Las Cruces to visit the grandparents.  Swimming, swimming, and more swimming!

Tennis has been a big part of our summer since Grant turned 8.  He loves it more now than ever.  The only difference being that he now towers over everyone including his coach!

Chloe and I are still fans of the park, and this summer we've decided to try out new parks in addition to our old favorites.

Allison isn't making a movie this year, and we are all kind of missing the excitement that goes along with filming days, but she hasn't slowed down her creative juices.  Cupcakes for the summer church picnic are only a part of what she is doing.

More tennis.  Chloe loves the city tennis lessons, and she absolutely loved her class and instructor this year.  She really wanted to do another month of tennis lessons, but that may have to wait until next year.  Her instructor bought them all ice cream cones for the last day.

And, Chloe was pretty happy about that.

Sculpey clay is Chloe's newest hobby, and in the tradition of her sisters, her starfish wasn't complete until the glitter and bling came out of the craft box.

Abby made this star-studded card for my sister's b-day.  I think she's more creative than Hallmark, so I pay her for my cards instead.

Pirates?  In my house?  Oh yes.

I knew about the Disney pirates movie marathon.  After all, I did give my permission for this event to take place.  Pirate party is more like it. Canon ball Cheeze balls, Black Pearl donuts, gold (chicken) nuggets , fish (goldfish crackers) and chips (potato chips), and fruit jewels were just a few of the things that adorned the menu for the day.

The schedule for the day

Summer's only half over, so I supposed the summer shenanigans are only half over as well.  Can't wait to see what the rest of the summer will hold!
