First Day of Fall
Chloe wanted me to share her favorite apple books with my readers. Her all time favorite book about apples is How to Make an Apple Pie and See the World. The girl in the story travels to Jamaica, Sri Lanka, Italy, England, and Vermont to collect the ingredients she needs to make an apple pie. Chloe's second favorite is Apples to Oregon. In this story, a girl named Delicious helps her daddy move apple and other kind of fruit trees from Iowa to Oregon on the trail west. This book went along perfectly with our westward travels with Lewis and Clark in history, and Chloe has this book almost memorized. We topped off our study of apples by going to the store and buying a few different kinds of apples to try, and then Allison made us a wonderful apple crisp, which you can see here, with the Granny Smith apples we bought. Happy first day of fall everyone!

We got a cold front on the first day of Fall. My favorite season! I'll have to check out some of those apple books. I have a ton of Fall books, but haven't seen those.
