She's Reading!

Teaching a child to read is a very rewarding experience, but it is even more rewarding when the child you are teaching wants desperately to learn! Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons is the book I'm using to teach my last child how to read. We finished lesson 12 today, and already Chloe is reading simple words! She's very excited, and we are all excited for her. Although I love this book, I do not use it exclusively to teach a child to read because it does not cover all the phonograms encountered in reading. I will probably switch her to a more thorough program when we finish somewhere between lessons 50 and 75.

This book is great for teaching a child to hear all the sounds in a word and how to blend them together to make a word. Best of all, Chloe is enjoying her reading lessons immensely!
