Weekly Report

Another week gone, and another book almost finished. Allison took her last chapter test in Math--test 30. She aced it! Way to go!

Abby has been plugging away diligently in her Latin studies this year and is doing very well. She just took test #2 and scored an A! Awesome--Latin is hard!

After a week of working through the regular subjects; math, spelling, grammar, reading, history, handwriting, phonics, and science, we took a break today and did something fun! We haven't dyed eggs in a couple of years, so today I let the kids loose with a dye kit and some boiled eggs.

If you live anywhere with high altitude, then you know how difficult a simple job like boiling eggs can be! We lived here several years before I figured out how to keep my boiling eggs from rumbling against each other in the pot and cracking. Basically, I just can't boil eggs in 15 minutes and be done with it anymore! I have to bring the water to a very slow boil. It took me an hour to boil these eggs today, but don't they look pretty!

Chloe was not impressed with the smell of vinegar.

The colors are fun,...

...and the kids did an amazingly creative job with their eggs!

Happy Friday to all!

Those are pretty looking eggs. I wish my 3 boys would sit and do this without breaking the eggs first :)

I'm glad Chloe didn't like the smell of vinegar. I dyed eggs with my school kids and all of the autistic kids thought vinegar smelled good! Maybe I stumbled upon a new way to diagnose autism. HA!
