School Preparations

August brings preparations for another school year. I am working on curriculum--the "software", but that isn't as much fun as getting the "hardware" ready for school. Chloe currently uses a desk that my parents gave me for my birthday one year when I was in elementary school. I loved that present! I haven't parted with it yet, and two years ago, we decided to clean it out and let Chloe use it for her school stuff. We bought new, modern looking computer desks for the other three kids, but Chloe needed something that she could hide all of her junk supplies in.

For the last two years, she's worked at this desk that really needed some outside attention. The top is in great condition, but it needed some paint and the handles looked terrible. I should have taken a picture of the handles before I took them off, but trust me, they needed some help.

A good sturdy chair that saw me through many years needed a lot of work as well.

Chloe requested almond colored paint and hot pink handles. We went to Joanne Fabrics and had a great time choosing the fabric to recover the chair. She loves her new school space, and I'm hoping it will motivate her to keep it neat and tidy!

Precious! I LOVE those handles! You are a great momma, Sydni. Such care for each of your kiddos and the person that the Lord has made each one of them. Hoping you guys have a successful and NEAT school year :)
