Our composer last week: Chopin

I think our favorite part about studying Chopin was the fact that he was Polish, so we could do this Polish art project while we listened to his music. Polish peasants didn't have a lot of money, so they would cut symmetrical patterns out of paper to use as decorations in their homes. The technique is called Wycinanki (Vee chee non ky). You can find all kinds of examples of Polish paper cut-outs on the web, but this project was a hit.
