Tea Time Thursday

Time for tea again! This month, Allison hosted our Kool-Aid tea time. Her theme was the color orange. She made orange tissue paper flowers for the centerpiece, orange Kool-Aid for our drink, and gingerbread fingers with orange cream filling for our tea time treat. She even found a room spray called "Orange Flower" hiding in the corner of the dusty laundry room and put it to good use. I read the first chapter from A Family Treasury of Proverbs, and we had a good discussion about some of Solomon's wise words. The tea ended with a game Allison prepared--find as many words as you can in two minutes out of the words "orange slice".

Elegant but simple

A delicious treat

If you have children old enough to work in the kitchen, challenge them to host a tea time. You might need to model for them by being the first host. Tea time taps their creativity and teaches them to serve others. And if you feel sorry for Grant living with a house full of girls and having to endure tea time--don't. He loves tea time. What young boy wouldn't enjoy eating sweets in the afternoon? Stay tuned for a very masculine tea time when Grant has his turn--maybe we'll call it snack time instead. ;)

Hahahaha that looks like it was a great time for all!!! I think it can be a "manly" thing to be able to treat girls in a girly way and enjoy it!! :)

that is really cool that you teach them to exercize their creativity......I don't have any. I don't think that I could do something like that.
