Weekly Report: Sept. 2010

We are almost in full swing again finally. I only need to add in the extras like art and music appreciation. Rehearsals for Christmas Joy have started for Allison, so she basically does her schoolwork and heads to the studio. At least, that is what it feels like for me as the driver! Starting 7th grade has been easy for Abby. She's tackling her work with diligence. Grant is actually writing more on his own now which must mean his fine motor skills have finally kicked in. Yea! Chloe is doing great with her phonics even though she was really worried about not being able to learn to read. Ah..., when life's worries only consisted of "what if I can't learn how to read?"

Grant is continuing with Draw Squad. I love his little bird house!
Chloe and Grant worked on a step pyramid as a part of our study of ancient Egypt.

We used sugar cubes to represent the limestone the ancient Egyptians covered their pyramids with.

A gold-painted sugar cube represents the gold overlaying a pyramid's top.

Next week, our studies will take us to mummies, Pharaohs, and more about the Nile River.
