In just thirty-nine hours and counting, the race will commence! Pinewood Derby, here we come! My house and my garage have been turned into a workshop for kids and their blocks of wood. Until today, those blocks of wood only slightly resembled the shapes they are meant to be. The madness will continue into the wee hours of Saturday morning as Dad and the kids strive for perfection. Shaping, sanding and painting the wood is only half the battle. Then comes polishing the axles, and aligning the wheels for the slickest ride on the pinewood derby track. See you at the races!

I remember the preparation process vividly! That picrue of Abby and the chrome paint is similar to a scene in our garage when we were working on ours. I have to warn you though, to get those axles smooth enough, it will take a VERY, VERY strong hand because it will take a L-O-N-G T-I-M-E, with all the graphite-ing and polishing and everything! Just thought I'd warn you. :-) Lookin' good so far though! I so wish we could be there with you all. Good luck at the races! I'm looking forward to pics!
