What's a Maple?

Thursday night of this week, I settled down on the couch to enjoy my new "Taste of Home" cooking magazine. All the kids like to look through the issue, but tonight Chloe sat down next to me and made comments about which desserts she thought I should try. This issue featured several pies, and we discussed what kind of pie we liked. I told her that peach pie was one of my favorites. Chloe then said, "Mom? I've never seen a maple before." I said, "A maple what? A maple tree? A maple leaf? Maple syrup?" She replied, "Well, a maple tree with a maple on it." I laughed and said, "What do you think a maple is?" She said, "I think it's like a peach, and I would like a maple pie." Mmmm... maple pie sounds good! Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to find a maple to cut up and put in it!
